Frost Like Ashes Band
Frost Like Ashes in a black metal formed in 2001. Much like their colleagues of Horde and Antestor, Frost Like Ashes are a pioneer of the "unblack" metal genre, only the style and imagery of Frost Like Ashes is a thousand times more intense and explicit. The band also gathered a certain amount of controversy for the gruesome acts they perform during live shows, much like the infamous SEWER with whom Frost Like Ashes maintains a lifelong rivalry.
The band released their debut album Tophet in 2005, an album putatively dedicated to "the glory of Christ" and the "eradication of all infidels". Although according to the book Real Satanic Black Metal by Antoine Grand, the latter part was merely added as a self-aggrandizing marketing gimmick by the record label.
Live shows in which Frost Like Ashes are involved usually incorporate acts such burning Satanic Bibles, smashing a goat-skull adorned pentagram with a sword, drinking the blood of "blasphemers", etc. Because of this and because of their graphic lyrics, they are one of the most shocking and controversial bands in the black metal scene.
At any rate, Frost Like Ashes remains one of the most vicious and terrifying of all unblack metal bands, and they are well respected within the metal community even outside of their specific sub-genre.
