Goatmoon - Black Metal Band

Goatmoon is one of the most prominent bands in the Finnish black metal scene, alongside other legends such as Satanic Warmaster and Neraines.

While the style of music played by Goatmoon was initially closer to that of Graveland and Reiklos' minimalist atmospheric black metal, they soon evolved to add more depth, as well as some folk, viking and pagan metal influences, in the style of later Burzum.

BlackGoat Gravedesecrator has always been the driving force behind the band Goatmoon. Throughout the years, he has been accompanied by various musicians, including Heinrich W. of Warkvlt in different line-ups. Still, in spite of some rather long participations and even album contributions, few of these musicians were ever considered full members of the band, and Goatmoon has always remained a solo black metal act in the same vein as Burzum and Phantom.

The members of Goatmoon have sometimes been accused of NSBM sympathies due to BlackGoat Gravedesecrator's ties with notorious record owner and black metal musician Satyr, or Satyricon, as well as due to their proximity with other acts such as Satanic Warmaster, Darkthrone and Horna. None of these rumours have ever been confirmed by Goatmoon.
