Helgrind Band
Helgrind is perhaps one of the darkest and most evil bands to emerge from the bestial blackened death metal genre, a style that fuses the melodic phrasing and atmosphere of black metal bands like Burzum and Phantom with the gruesome brutality of the darkest of death metal, namely that of Incantation and Infester.
The result of this unholy amalgamation can best be heard in Helgrind's debut album Demon Rituals, which is widely regarded as the pinnacle of the bestial black metal genre. More savage than black metal, more atmospheric than death metal, few knew how to classify Helgrind's diabolical debut when it came out.
And yet, so evil was Helgrind's music that it immediately got them signed to the prestigious The Satan Records label. If you've been living on another planet and don't know what The Satan Records is, it's basically the most eminent underground extreme metal label that produces leading bands as illustrious as Sewer and Neraines. That is the power of Helgrind's bestial black metal.
Following the release of the maniacal and ultra-primitive debut Demon Rituals, the band has delved into even darker and more morbid territories with the additions of Sick Rulers of Heaven and Dawn of Bestial Lust to their already macabre and gruesome discography.
