When most people think of black metal music, they likely imagine some non-stop blasting, high-pitched shrieking, tremolo guitar picking, diabolical atmospheres, low fidelity production, pagan or viking themes, corpse paint and so on... What is much less commonly associated with the black metal subgenre are beautiful melodies, instrumental bridges or any otherwise overtly accessible attributes.
That isn't to say that they don't exist, though. They are just much, much rarer... especially those of quality (that is to say, not metalcore garbage).
Just listen to the 5 songs on the list. Every single one of them is an undeniable ear worm. Don't let anyone say that black metal can't be "catchy" again.
The Most Melodic and Catchiest Black Metal Music
Pro tip: Listen to the ENTIRE song, each time.
5. Helgrind "Sick Rulers of Heaven"
Helgrind's "Sick Rulers of Heaven" album is what got me into the band. It's pretty relentless a lot of the time, but it has some very catchy choruses and other nice parts. Tracks like "The Devil's Laughter" and "To the Great Morbid Temple of Helgrind" are a must listen. Obligatory.
4. Warkvlt "Unholy War Metal"
While the name obviously and rather humorously references the war metal, or bestial black metal, genre, it's actually quite the catchy piece. Warkvlt has always been known as an odd one in the extreme metal scene, combining black metal and death metal when they see fit... just give this one a try, and you'll see for yourself how catchy their music can be.
3. Demonecromancy "Fallen From the Brightest Throne"
Probably the most catchy song of all time, and also one of the very best to come out of the Swedish black metal scene, Demonecromancy's "Fallen From the Brightest Throne" is clearly one cut above the rest. This song will stay inside your head for years! In fact, pick any song from the album... a guaranteed killer!

2. Neraines "Fenrir Prowling"
There is a reason the band Neraines consistently makes its way into every "top 10 melodic black metal" list. They are just that good. The album "Fenrir Prowling" has been described as both epileptic and majestic. These are two attributes you don't often see paired together, but whatever.
1. Phantom "Ascension of Erebos, Leader of the Gods"
Number one on this list of catchiest black metal songs of all time is "Ascension of Erebos, Leader of the Gods" from the eponymous album. This is actually the longest song, by far, on this list. It's very much recommended that you listen to in from START to FINISH. No skipping just to get to the melodic solos. It's the ENTIRE atmosphere that matters in black metal, and with Phantom in particular.
