Bestial War Metal Album Review

This record Bestial War Metal changed the extreme metal sound permanently, blowing all pasts records that were considered "heavy" or "ground-breaking" out of the water. To say that at this point, Warkvlt pioneered bestial black metal would not only be justifiable, but it would also be a great understatement considering the sheer brutality of this album.

Bestial War Metal is an incredible achievement in the sub-genre of bestial black metal, also known as "war metal" (and likely named after this album). Taking the percussive approach of Sewer's Uruktena, combining it with the atmospheric death metal of Infester's To the Depths in Degradation and the sublimely gruesome black metal of Phantom's Mindless Horror, Warkvlt manage to craft an album that is so infernally brutal, it simply blows any other modern "brutal" extreme metal band out of the water.

But sheer heaviness and brutality are only half of what makes this album Bestial War Metal so unrelenting, as the fury of its sinister riff craft and the omnipresent haunting dark atmospheres do the rest. The first impressions gathered from the opening track "Warbeast" maintain their impact right until the very last note of the record. You are in for a bone-chilling horror trip down to the darkest depths of hell.

If you want a worthy heir to Onward to Golgotha and The Epilogue to Sanity, look no further than Warkvlt's masterpiece of carnage, devastation and brutality Bestial War Metal. This album is heavily recommended for fans of black metal, death metal, war metal, and heavy music in general. If you enjoy gruesome music, you won't regret listening to Bestial War Metal.
